If you haven’t received a quote on your delivery yet the important thing is not to panic. You may not receive quotes on your delivery instantly but you should have some within a few days. If your delivery is urgent or you are worried about the amount of quotes you have received, you can feature your delivery. This means that it will appear at the top of the search page in the highlighted section and attract more attention. Simply follow these steps to feature you delivery:
1) Go to: https://www.shiply.com/users/login and log into your account.
2) Find your delivery under “Active Deliveries”.
3) Select “Upgrade to Featured Delivery” from the drop down menu.
4) Follow the instructions on the screen.
There are several things you can do as a user to get more quotes on your shipment listing. The most beneficial of these are detailed below:
Describe your shipment
The description of your shipment is one of the most important elements of your listing. If you are vague, service providers can find it difficult to judge the dimensions, weight and other important factors in regards to your shipment. Without this information, service providers often will just provide a very high quote to cover themselves or simply not provide a quote at all.
So, if you want lots of quotes and service provider's competing for your business make sure your description is accurate and complete.
If you significantly misrepresent the size or weight of your shipment, service providers who come to pick it up do have the express right to refuse the shipment or to charge you more, at their discretion. So avoid this by being honest about the shipment and provide them with as much information as you have right from the start.
You can edit your shipment (provided no quotes have already been placed) to add more detail at any time.
A picture is worth a thousand words.... Service providers love to be able to see shipments before placing a bid and we have found that shipment listings with pictures attract a great deal more quotes than those without. Not to mention service providers can often place far more accurate and competitive quotes if they can get a visual idea of how the shipment might fit into their load space.
You can add up to 5 pictures to your shipment listing at any time by using the edit listing tool.
Use the Messaging System
Shiply uses an advanced threaded messaging system in all shipment listings. This allows service providers to ask users questions to clarify things before provide their quote. Please make sure you reply to these questions promptly and answer all of their questions to the best of your knowledge. As all responses are posted for all to see, common repeated questions are averted and you can expect more bids quickly.
